  • Despite what it might look like at first glance, play therapy differs greatly from simply playing at home. In play therapy, the way in which the therapist responds to the child helps to build the therapeutic relationship, ultimately leading to the therapeutic change.

  • Solstice Child and Family Wellness is currently in-network with the following insurance companies:

    Solstice Child and Family Wellness is in the process of paneling with the following insurance companies:

    • United Healthcare

  • Making sure mental health services are accessible to all is a core value of Solstice Child and Family Wellness. We do have a limited number of sliding scale spots available. If you would like more information or would like to submit an application for sliding-scale services, please reach out to us to inquire.

  • At this time, Solstice does offer both in-person and telehealth services. Please reach out to us to determine which service would be most beneficial to your child and family.

    Please note, that due to licensing regulations clients must be physically located in the state of North Carolina at the time of telehealth services.

  • In order to be able to serve the community to the best of our abilities, Solstice Child and Family Wellness has a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. Any cancellations made less than 48-hours prior to the session time will be charged the full amount and cannot be billed to insurance.

    If you or your child has a contagious illness or in the event of another emergency that might prohibit you from keeping your appointment, please reach out to us immediately.

  • We recognize that different individuals might have different feelings related to receiving a diagnosis.

    In order to bill insurance, you will have to receive a diagnosis. This is something you and your therapist will discuss during your first session.

    If you choose to self-pay for services, you will have the option to not have a diagnosis formally documented on your medical record.
